Dr. Pamela Cantor and Brooke Stafford-Brizard Co-teach Harvard Graduate School Class

Pamela Cantor, M.D., President and CEO and Brooke Stafford-Brizard, Senior Advisor, joined Todd Rose, Director of the Mind, Brain and Education Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in co-teaching one of Todd’s graduate level classes. The class, Individuality and Personalization in Education offers an introduction to the science of individuality as a foundation for personalization in education. Building on emerging knowledge from the science of individuality, and using a combination of presentations and group discussions, the class is tasked with evaluating the benefits and shortcomings of models, frameworks and tools for personalized learning.

Cantor and Stafford-Brizard shared what they have learned about the impact of stress and adversity on learning and development and presented Turnaround’s Building Blocks for Learning framework, which outlines the skills and mindsets necessary for healthy student development and academic achievement. They discussed how each of their personal and professional paths led to their current knowledge and work.
